This striking shield is decorated with bold trade paint in red, yellow and charcoal. Sometimes warriors would add personal touches to shields like this. If a design element on a shield was just unusual enough, an enemy might look at it a second "too long" allowing him to be defeated or kill. The paint is oxidized and "alligatored" from age and exposure. In good condition with no noteworthy loss or damage.
