Philippines Kalinga Headhunter Axe with Decorative Brass Handle, Antique Weapon

Description

This is one of the most elegant yet menacing of all tribal weapons. I was fortunate to buy this one recently but examples of this vintage and quality are now very rare! The decorated handle is all original featuring a profusion of elegant cutwork and embossed sheet brass. The blade is very sharp and is uncleaned or polished. It In good condition, however, it is missing it one of its brass bands on the handle. It has acquired a warm rich patina on the handle and shows long use. A custom metal display stand is included.
