A classic 19th century eating spoon of elongated proportions, presented on a custom display stand. It features a seated male figure with angular face having muted austere features wearing an "Oklop" hunter's helmet. It should be noted that the oldest dated "Bulul" sculptures (from the 15th century) have this same exact facial treatment. Its feet face inward and taper to points extending past the base which enhance the figures pose. Carved from a dark color hardwood with a rich varied patina turning from a dark brown to red. It shows significant age and extensive use with a smooth worn surface. In good condition with some slight evidence of rat gnawing on the legs. A wonderful piece of art ready to be displayed.
