N. Philippines Kalinga Headhunter Axe with Decorative Copper Handle

Description

This is one of the most elegant yet menacing of all tribal weapons. Examples of this vintage and quality are now very rare! I was fortunate to buy this back from a collector I previously sold it to 8 years prior and is the best one I've had. The decorated handle is all original featuring a profusion of cutwork and embossed sheet copper. The blade is very sharp and is uncleaned or polished. It In excellent condition having acquired a warm rich patina on the handle. A custom metal display stand is included. See photo of the kalinga warrior below carrying a similar axe.
