Kalinga 8 Barb Harpoon Spear, Luzon

Description

An excellent Early Spear from perhaps the fiercest headhunting group in the mountain province. The 12 inch long Spear head features "four" sets of graduated barbs and is finished with a forged iron collar at its base. Its graceful and power design is a tribute to the blacksmith's skill artistry and vision. The long hardwood shaft has a section of woven rattan below the head and is completed with a forged iron "reinforcing" conical end cap. Definitely one of the greatest examples we've ever seen!
